The 2019 growing season here in Pilot Mountain was marked by very little rainfall, warm sunny days with a constant breeze flowing through the vineyards. This ripened the fruit slowly and at the same time dehydrated the fruit slightly which reduced our yields and in- turn accentuated the fruit flavors and varietal characteristics. This rich and luxurious full bodied wine is layered in enticing aromas of cherry, blackberry, mocha & baking spices. This elegant wine has a supple and velvety finish with balanced tannins, berries and minerals, pairing wonderfully with steaks, stews, game or to be enjoyed on its own. This wine will continue to age gracefully for a decade or more.

Ratings
92 Points at the 2020 Critics International Wine & Spirits Competition ---
Cynthiana, also known as Norton, can be a beast, but it's well tamed here, showing its pretty side. Red fruit, spice and a dash of white pepper please the palate . - Rich Cook ---
A very drinkable Norton. Fresh nose with dark red fruits and white pepper, very juicy and rich on the palate with vibrant acidity and a juicy finish. Very pleasing wine. - Allison Levine
