This non-vintage- 375 ML bottle Happy Ending is a masterful blend of three different vintages of Traminette and Vidal Blanc wines.
The wine is sweetened using an ancient German technique known as Süßreserve (sweet reserve). In this process, Vidal Blanc grape juice is sterile-filtered before fermentation to preserve its freshness and sweetness. After fermentation is complete, the Traminette base wine is back-sweetened by blending it with approximately 12% of the reserved Vidal Blanc juice. This adds both sweetness and acidity while also lowering the alcohol content, creating a balanced and harmonious wine.
This method mirrors the traditional style of crafting a "Kabinett" wine. Under German wine law, no more than 15% of the final wine’s volume can consist of reserved juice. This technique is commonly used in creating semi-sweet Kabinett and Spätlese wines, though it is less frequently applied to higher levels like Auslese.
The result is a delicately sweet, vibrant wine with a nod to the classic winemaking traditions of Germany—a true Happy Ending in every sense!
